- The last time I flew a child literally screamed for the majority of the flight. It didn't appear that the parents attempted anything to calm/pacify the child.. and some nasty comments began flying their way.

- I'm with you Kane. If it had been my kid (besides the fact that he would have tormented them more then they did him) I would be building a new house with the lawsuit money from these idiots. And I agree with you.. the scariest part is that there was an "off-duty" police officer involved.

- Lyrica, you might be surprised what parents will agree to if the "pastor" (or other religious leader) tells them it's the "right thing to do". Many what we would consider normal intelligent people do stupid things because an authority figure told them it would be alright.

- With all due respect Kane, it NEVER should have happened in the first place. If a parent did this Child Protective Services would come in and investigate. Parents shouldn't be able to give permission to have their children traumatized.

- Jr., do some research with groups like the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and others. Those "scared straight" and DUI programs you talk about are NOT effective and everyone who works in that field knows they aren't effective. But they are popular with the media and get a lot of attention.

- The problem is, and not making this a denominational issue, but there is no control or oversight in religious institutions. Watch what happens. They will not be prosecuted or sued because it was a "religious function".

- Traumatizing a child does not "prepare" them for being traumatized in the future. They are completely helpless, what are they supposed to learn? They do this training with military people so they don't give classified information, or troop locations, etc..

- This is wrong on so many levels. Other then the obvious one of Hitler being a sadistic mass-murderer, he isn't really famous for the clean appearance of his hair. Greasy, slicked back, comb-over hair that makes him look like the world's most dangerous nerd.
